How to request deletion of your data

If you have used any BlackBird AI application, including our Instagram integration operated under the Publisher app, you can ask us to delete your personal data and revoke every platform authorisation you gave us.

We handle deletion requests in line with:

• UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
• California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA)
• Meta Platform Terms

Method 1: remove the app yourself (fastest)

You can revoke our app's access to your account directly.

Instagram

1. Open Instagram and tap your profile picture (bottom right).
2. Tap the menu (☰), then Settings and activity.
3. Tap Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
4. Find Publisher under Active.
5. Tap Remove.

Once you revoke access, our application can no longer read or post anything on your behalf. We purge the cached data on our side within 7 days.

Method 2: email us (full deletion)

To delete everything we hold about you, not just the app authorisation, email us:

Please include:

• The email address or addresses you used to contact us
• Your Instagram handle, if you authorised our app
• Your full name, so we can confirm the request is yours

What happens after your request

Older backups of our website can still hold a copy of your data until those backups are deleted. We use backups only to restore our website, and if we ever restore one, we will delete your data from it again.

We keep only the few records listed under "Data we have to keep" below.

Data we will delete

• Profile and contact data (name, email, phone, business details)
• Enquiries and form entries, including partial entries
• Project files and communications about your engagement
• Cached Instagram content (posts, comments, insights, profile metadata)
• OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens
• Email open and click records, and other analytics tied to you
• Marketing records, apart from the do-not-contact entry described below

Data we have to keep

• Your email address or phone number on our do-not-contact list, so that we do not contact you again
• A record of any marketing consent you gave and when you withdrew it, where we need it to show we followed anti-spam law
• Invoices and payment records, for as long as tax and accounting law requires
• Records of legal disputes or required regulatory filings

We use these records only for the purpose they are kept for.
